Event: SMAA Football Volunteers

Job Description: Helping with the local youth development league for players ages 7-13. 
There are 4 different areas that require multiple volunteers, so bring a friend!
1. Concession Booth: help with food & beverage service during games
2. Highlighting: track points, plays, and penalties of players/teams during games

3. Scorekeeping/Scoreboard: operate clock and scoreboard
4. Sideline Stick Crew: in a team of 3, hold the sticks to mark yards of plays and downs

Dates: Saturdays between September 8th to November 10th, 2018
Location: Norm Perry Park, 300 Exmouth (corner of Exmouth & Christina Streets)  
Number of Volunteer Needed:  5+

Police Check Required: ​Not at this time, but good idea to go get one!

CYBER SENIORS - SARNIA

Event: Cyber Seniors - Sarnia

Job Description: Helping seniors learn to use the internet, email, facebook, youtue and skype. Working one-on-one guide them through a workbook. We would love for you to come to all the classes, but we understand if you can't. You just need to let us know when you will and won't be there so we can match up the seniors and students. 

Dates: Tuesdays & Thursdays (twice a week) at 3 - 4:30 (until mid-November)
Location: Trinity Anglican Church, 1194 Murphy Road (beside Tim Hortons at corner of Michigan & Murphy) 
Number of Volunteer Needed:  5+

Police Check Required: ​Not at this time, but good idea to go get one! 

Additional Requirements: You don't need to know everything, there will always be someone there to help, you just need to be familiar with using technology!

Harmony for Youth

Job Description: Scaring! We need as many people as possible to be scare-actors. You must be able to listen well to the rules and be safety minded - we are all about safety! 

Dates: Fridays & Saturdays, October 6/7, 13/14, 20/21, 27/28  between 6pm -10:30pm

 Bayside Mall, 150 Christina St. N., food court entrance

Police Check Required: ​Yes, if over age 18. Need parent's consent if under age 18. Notes available for police check discounted price ($11)
Additional Requirements: High school students please bring your volunteer sheet with you to be filled out each night you are there. There is the opportunity to earn 36 hours in 1 month! Also if you volunteer to help tear-down and clean up, you can earn more hours and have a pizza party!

Events: Children's Literacy Volunteer (Assistant Tutor)

Job Description: Do you love to help children? Do you enjoy inspiring children to be more confident? Volunteers needed to work with children in grades 1-7 in math, reading, and writing. With the direction of a tutor, volunteers work with children individually and in small groups for 2-4 hours per week. 

Date & Location: Opportunities available in Sarnia, Alvinston, Corunna, Watford & Wyoming.  Programs are weekday evenings. A 20-week commitment is required (during October-November and again in January -  April)

CMHA Ride Don't Hide Event

Events: Ride, Don't Hide

Job Description: Event Day Volunteer - Cheer on our event participants as a Route Marshall and assist with food and water at route rest stops. Assist with food & beverage pick-up and delivery pre-event and set-up assistance with light breakfast and BBQ lunch on event day. Set-Up, Tear Down of tables, chairs, banners, signs, and supplies pre-event and event day. Registration of participants hand out swag and assist with door prizes.

Cyber Seniors - Sarnia

Event: ​Teaching Seniors to use Internet

Job Description:
 In a class setting, students are matched with seniors and help them learn to navigate the internet, set-up and use email, facebook, youtube and skype. There is a step-by-step workbook to follow to guide you. Classes are 3-4:30 twice a week for 3-4 weeks and run in the fall (starting late September/early October) and in the spring. Two locations: northend & southend. You don't have to attend every class, but will need to let know supervisor when you can/can't be there for planning/matching purposes. Date & Location: Southend location (Kiwanis building on College) Mondays & Wednesdays 3-4:30pm, northend location (Trinity Anglican Church, Michigan & Murphy) Tuesdays & Thursdays 3-4:30pm. Not required to attend every class, but must provide availability to superviser
