Here are a few basic tips on how to be a good volunteer. These are the top qualities that organizations are looking for when recruiting volunteers. Have a look!
Tracking Sheet and Roles & Responsibilities
For your volunteer hours tracking sheet and guidelines (LKDSB), click the button beside your School Board. Read the Community Involvement Activities page so you know which activities are eligible/ineligible for your 40 hours of volunteering. Print this sheet off and take it with you when you volunteer so your supervisor can sign it for you (they really don't want to sign it 4 years later when you need it to graduate)
It is also a good idea - a great one, in fact - to get a Police Check done. Click the button below to print out a police check form. Fill it out and take it and the appropriate identification to the police station to have a police check done. **NOTE** If you FILL OUT YOUR NAME & INFORMATION on your school volunteer hours tracking sheet and take it with you, the $11 fee will be waived. It will be free.
This page will be devoted to helpful tips and important information to help make the volunteering experience a good one for both the students and organizations. Information such as how to get a police check or immunization. Tips on recruiting students or creating fun opportunities will be posted here.
